The public school system is undoubtedly one of the most important institutions in any community. It not only serves a great number of students and parents in the area but is likely to be one of the largest employers and consumer of local tax revenue. Despite being such a central part of the community, many districts are not proactive and consistent enough in engaging stakeholders. Often times, school districts routinely only communicate during times of need (e.g., bond referendum) or duress and do not consistently articulate the value and benefits of what they do.
The District Management Council (DMC) has developed an extensive experience base helping districts put systemic approaches to effectively engage key stakeholders and communicate a district's strategy to teachers, parents, and the community.
