Richard Viard, VP Product Development

Richard brings over 20 years of experience in technology and innovative product design to DMC. In the 1990s, Richard co-founded SmarterKids.com, a company that developed some of the first CD-ROM Edutainment products, early childhood assessment games, and an educational e-commerce platform. DMC’s growing list of consulting projects has engaged Richard to identify and tailor software solutions for districts.

DMC Project Experiences Include:

• Overseeing the design and development of DMC’s software solutions: StaffSmart special education services scheduler, District Management Dashboard, Ascend teacher evaluation system, and SimBudget account management.
• Creating a special education benchmarking database which compares practices and results among like-districts within a given state.
• Conducting interviews and focus groups with school administrators, staff, and parents as part of DMC’s consulting practice.

Other Professional Experiences Include:

• Executive Producer at SmartBargains, a leader in the online retail and off-price merchandise segment.
• User Experience Consultant for LinkShare Corp.
• Director of Product and Technology at Rakuten USA, the parent company of OneCause, LLC.
