Nicholas P. Morgan, Managing Director
Nick brings to DMC his experience as a researcher, strategist and facilitator. As Managing Director, he leads DMC’s research, knowledge management and practice development. He frequently facilitates and directs leadership development programs with district leaders and educators around the country. Nick is also on the faculty of the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education.
DMC Project Experiences Include:
- Developing DMC’s publications, events, and resource support materials, with a deep focus on issues of school district strategy, human capital processes, and financial and budgetary planning.
- Supporting DMC’s consulting practice with synthesized insights from research and best practices from districts and non-education sector examples from around the country.
- Designing and leading the professional development components of DMC’s District Management Institute, which combines professional coaching, peer support and instructor-led training to assist district leaders in accomplishing professional challenges.
Other Professional Experiences Include:
- Program Lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education. Nick is also a judge for Penn’s Education Business Plan Competition.
- Senior Principal with The Parthenon Group, a consulting and principal investment firm founded by partners from Bain & Company and Bain Capital, leading international strategy consulting and investment firms respectively. Nick’s work spanned market and product strategy, mergers and acquisitions advisory, profit improvement and post-merger integration. He led several efforts in the education sector for clients in the K-12, higher education, and corporate training markets.
- Analyst with Arthur D. Little (ADL), a pioneering global consulting firm based in Cambridge, MA. Nick was part of ADL’s Advanced Power Systems group, which focused on developing strategies for energy and technology companies.
Publications Include:
- Founding Editorials Editor of The District Management Journal, a magazine that provides actionable insights on how to better lead and manage public school districts.
- Co-authoring a book on strategic planning for school districts.
